About me

My research interests are theory and numerical simulations of soft condensed matter systems, focusing on the spontaneous self-assembly of colloidal particles interacting through simple effective potentials. Specifically, I investigate how these particles organize themselves in confined regions of space, exploring the influence of confinement on the self-assembly process. Other topics of my interest include the study of the phase behavior of liquid crystals confined in spherical regions, the assembly of protein cages, viral capsids and other physical processes in viruses. Additionally, I have conducted work on the rheology of nematic liquid crystals and colloidal suspensions. Finally, and as a result of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, I have become interested in the mathematical description of epidemics.
